The Agilent 34907A module used in the 34970A data acquisition/switching unit provides great flexibility for various sensing and control applications. It provides two 8-bit digital input and output ports, a 100 kHz gating counter, and two ± 12V analog outputs on a common module. Digital input and counter input can be included in one scan. It continuously monitors the alarm limits of digital and event counter inputs, and can even capture and record alarm signals between scans.
Digital input/output
By utilizing the digital output of an external power source, microwave switches and attenuators, solenoids, relays, indicator lights, and more can be controlled. Use digital inputs to sense the status of limit switches and digital buses. It does not have a complex handshake mode and can initiate read and write operations from the front panel or bus.
Counting input
Count the number of events from devices such as photo readers, limit switches, and Hall effect sensors.
It maintains * new statistical results, which can be read from the front panel or accessed in a programmable manner at any time. Due to its 26 bit resolution, it can calculate the number of events for nearly 45 minutes at full speed without overflow.
Analog output
Two electronically calibrated analog outputs are used to provide bias voltage for the tested device, control the analog programming power supply, or use the outputs as set points for the control system. Output can be programmed directly in volts from the front panel or from the bus.
